Will Web Site Analysis Reports Remain Unbiased?: Media Post’s Media Daily News: Section Three

Friday, April 1st, 2005

My letter to the editor “Will Web Site Analysis Reports Remain Unbiased?” was published today in Media Post’s Media Daily News: Section Three.

RE: WebTrends Gains Independence From NetIQ (MDN, 3/29)

Isn’t it ironic that both Webtrends and Urchin announce their deals on the same day? Since Urchin is going to be acquired by Google and Webtrends will be under a private equity company, it makes me (and many others) wonder if Web site analysis reports will continue to give detailed unbiased referral information or if Google will use this new relationship to increase its traffic and control in the online arena, not that they need help in that department.
