Well, so I thought. It was T minus 5 days before the Blogher Conference. The weekend came and went and I didn’t think about my drive until the following Monday (3 days before the conference.) I searched high and low for my drive , in my bags, in my clothes, at my client’s workplace and and my place. I went to my Gram’s and back and my building super asked me if I lost a computer disk. I was so relieved since all my presentation materials were on this drive. The first thing I did was to back up my USB drive to my web hosting company. Then I opened up a Mozy account. The lesson here, backup often!
Now its your turn, Tell me your technology horror story, by commenting to this post. Even though I work from home a majority of the time, there are instances when I must commute for business, family, or personal obligations. I have came up with a list of how to make the most out of any transit commute.
- Plan your strategy for a current or upcoming project;
- Read a publication of choice (book, magazine or newspaper);
- Listen to an audiobook;
- Monologue (or mono storming) ideas and jot them down in a notebook;
- Write your next article;
- Write your next blog post (Ahem…)
- Review past checklists and cross out completed tasks.
With these tips, one can put these to action when you are waiting in any scenario.

For those of you who were around last September, I did an post about how I cleaned up my place and put my wares online in Take the Yard Sale Online. In this edition, I’m going to amend my position with a site I had found out about through a fellow Webgrrls member, Freecycle.
I decided to post my desk organizers on a Friday, since I no longer used them. Within the hour, I had a handful of people who were interested. By Saturday afternoon, my organizers went to a non-profit.

I re-applied for a library card online this past Thursday because my good friend urged me to check out a book instead of doing my usual Amazon thing. I wasn’t expecting the card until next month because they said it may take 30 days to receive. However, by today (Saturday) the new card was already in my mailbox. That’s what I call speedy.
