Feeling like you’re in a rut? Change your internal soundtrack!

There are times when one can feel stuck. When trying to get through work or chores, or just feeling lethargic. Lately, I felt into the latter camp because I have been incredibly busy, yet feel that I have nothing to show for it. This feeling is event more magnified during a certain time of year, but let’s not get too ahead of ourselves.

I was cruising the Twitter feeds and there was a blog post where someone didn’t know what a soundtrack is. I’m like, “Come on, really”? However, with cassette tapes and MP3’s I guess the young folks don’t know much about the vinyl and/or the 8-tracks.

Anyway, here are some things I have done to change my internal soundtrack to put me in a focus content mindset to do what needs to be done. Maybe these tips can help as well.

1. Change your cell phone ringtone. OK you had the same ring tone for 2 years or as long as you have the phone. If that’s your favorite song of all time, fine, but if not, would a change hurt?

2. Since we are on the theme of music, why not change around your music playlists? It doesn’t matter what kind of player you have, there is always room to switch your music around. After all, like a former co-worker said to me, “Sometimes, you just have to switch up the songs on the iPod.” I truly didn’t know what they meant until my device storage was reduced from 30gb to 8gb.

3. Change your passwords. Its always a good ideal to change your passwords on the regular basis anyway, but change them to what you are aiming for like “newcar09”. It will reinforce your dream and goal every time you type it in (Via Real Simple.)

They say that even the smallest change can make a big difference.
