The clock is ticking for free Ning Networks

Just in case you didn’t hear the news, Ning is phasing out its free networks.

What does it mean if you are currently running a free network on Ning, is that your days are numbered.

What options are out there?

One of the groups that I’m a member of opted to create a private group on Yahoo.

Another group that I know decided to go to Grouply.

Others with the time and gumption (which I personally am still trying to find) are going with BuddyPress. BuddyPress has a Ning to BuddyPress guide. Perhaps I’ll be more motivated when more BuddyPress themes emerge.
