How to switch from an Amazon aStore to a website

Did you hear the news? Amazon is pulling pulled the plug on it’s aStores as of October 2017. Amazon affiliates are wondering what the next step is for their aStore(s) and if it’s worth it to explore switching from having an aStore to a website.

aStore to a Website

Here are a couple of things you can do to convert your aStore to a website:

If you have your own self-hosted site, or if you pay for web hosting, all you need to do is create a page with all your aStore picks and recommendations, install the images and links, and you will be good to go. See examples of my aStore page and bookstore page on my site.

Displaying your aStore recommendations on a WordPress.com site.

For a site that is not self-hosted such as WordPress.com, the process is the same. Just create a new page with all your aStore picks, install the images and the links. Make sure you copy and page the code into the HTML editor area of your page.

See this example on an aStore site and the links on a WordPress.com site.

For other websites, such as Blogger, TypePad, Wix, Weebly, etc., it’s best to do a test post with an image and the title of the book.

With these tips, your Amazon aStore to website migration should be smooth sailing.
